SEND Apprenticeships

HIT Training Ltd believes all individuals with learning disabilities should have the opportunity to boost their skills and climb the career ladder, and undertaking an apprenticeship is the ultimate pathway to achieve this goal.

Apprenticeships are well suited to people with special educational needs and disabilities as they combine practical training on the job alongside study and 1-1 support with a Vocational Trainer. An apprentice will normally work alongside experienced staff in a company or organisation to gain job-specific skills and many achieve distinctions under HIT’s highly tailored learning programmes.

While people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) may require additional support to complete an apprenticeship, it is important to note that people with a learning disability or additional needs use the same apprenticeship standards as all other apprentices. The only difference is that as a training provider, HIT is able to access additional funding and support for employers and apprentices so they are more accessible for all.
