Course summary
EDN’s Inclusive Leadership programme is an enhanced Operations / Department Manager apprenticeship aimed at mid-level to senior leaders offering comprehensive management development with a focus on equity in the workplace.
This course takes a minimum of 15 months to complete.
What is Inclusive Leadership?
Aimed at operations and departmental managers who want to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to reach the next level, this programme will challenge archaic management processes and address stereotypical beliefs and prejudices.
Leaders and managers in all sizes of organisations will learn strategies for creating a diverse, inclusive and modern culture as well as analysing difficult subjects such as imposter syndrome and dealing with rage.
Motivational theories to increase recognition and advancement of minorities within an organisation are also addressed.
This apprenticeship will include the following modules:

Inclusive Leadership Modules
These two additional bespoke modules form part of the programme journey and are specifically designed to address diversity in the workplace. They include face-to-face workshops using flexible assessment methods to meet the needs of the learner.

Entry
This is a cohort based course with a blend of online and face to face workshops. (Minimum cohort size 15). Employers will set their own entry requirements in order to start on this apprenticeship, but typically requires five GCSEs at Grade C or higher.

Progression
On completion, successful learners would be able to take forward their experiences and influence colleagues and teams to promote diversity and inclusion within their organisation.
This will strengthen succession planning and support in creating an organisational culture with an emphasis on empowerment.

Functional skills
If the apprentice does not have maths and English GCSE grade 4+ or equivalent, they will need to pass maths and English Functional Skills Level 2 during their apprenticeship.
End assessment
The End Point Assessment (EPA) for the Operations / Department Manager Apprenticeship includes:
- Professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
- Project proposal, presentation and questioning.
Apprentices on this programme will achieve Operations / Department Manager Apprenticeship Standard as well as EDN certification for two additional inclusive leadership modules.
These bespoke modules which include two face-to-face workshops, are specifically designed to address diversity in the workplace.
Professional support
EDN assigns a designated Vocational Trainer to each apprentice who will be in regular contact with the apprentice to coach, mentor and discuss progress.
Alongside the apprentice they will agree on a personal learning and development plan, setting a timetable of learning activities in preparation for the End-Point Assessment (EPA).
The EDN Vocational Trainer will meet with the apprentice regularly either online or face-to-face to complete and review assessments, provide further coaching where required and agree the next steps of learning.
